On August 17, Lamborghini Motors launched the new supercar Temerario, featuring a twin-turbo V8 hybrid system that redefines the concept of performance, driving pleasure and comfort. The Temerario is the second Lamborghini HPEV high-performance hybrid model after the Revuelto, following the launch of the Urus SE, marking the hybridization of Lamborghini’s entire range of models.
As the star model of Monterrey Car Week 2024, the Temerario has become the new benchmark for supercars with performance that exceeds its class. The vehicle is equipped with a new hybrid system with a new twin-turbo V8 engine and three motors, with a combined power output of 920 horsepower. Developed from a new design by Lamborghini, this twin-turbo V8 engine is the first and only mass-produced supercar engine capable of reaching 10,000 rpm. Its performance is stunning: the top speed is over 340 km/h (210 + mph), and the acceleration from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) takes only 2.7 seconds.
"The Temerario is truly a" masterpiece ", unique in its technical and design excellence and innovation," says Stephan Winkelmann, chairperson and chief executive of Automobili Lamborghini. "Each new Lamborghini is committed to exceeding its predecessor in terms of performance while achieving greater sustainability in terms of emissions. With the Temerario, we have completed an important step in our Direzione Cor Tauri electrification strategy, making us the first ultra-luxury car brand to offer a full range of hybrids."
The Temerario also takes Lamborghini’s aerodynamic efficiency to a whole new level, and its style details and lines are another milestone in the brand’s design. The vehicle features a newly designed aluminum chassis, which benefits from high-strength ultra-light alloy materials created by cutting-edge technology. The torsional rigidity is greatly enhanced, providing the driver with extraordinary driving dynamics. Its chassis design not only provides an excellent comfort experience for passengers, but also expands the interior space: as a supercar, the Temerario showcases its outstanding performance on the track, but also provides far more spacious space for driving and luggage storage than its peers. In addition, Temerario introduces the Lamborghini Vision Unit system, which brings drivers the most advanced multimedia experience in Lamborghini history. The system offers new features and applications that allow users to relive and share their track and road driving experiences at any time.
Power System
At the heart of Lamborghini has always been its drive system. The new Temerario is equipped with an unprecedented supercar powertrain that Lamborghini has been developing for several years. It consists of an extremely high-revving twin-turbo internal combustion engine and three motors. "We wanted to develop an unparalleled high-performance sports car engine that combines the essence of a passionate V8 twin-turbo internal combustion engine and performance-centric electric technology. Through the synergy of three motors and one internal combustion engine, the vehicle is able to achieve instantaneous acceleration, torque vectoring and energy recovery. Temerario redefines the market segment it is in," said Rouven Mohr, chief technology officer of Lamborghini Automotive. "It is unique in both engineering and performance."
This new powertrain is essential for the Temerario, the second supercar in the Lamborghini HPEV range of high-performance hybrid models. The overarching goal was to achieve the highest possible power and torque, and to provide the responsive response of the classic high-rpm naturally aspirated engine. Therefore, the drive system is made of high-performance components: this new 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine generates 200 horsepower per liter and works in tandem with an oil-cooled axial flux motor that is fully integrated into the V8 engine. A pair of motors mounted on the front axle also provide power support for the vehicle.
"For the first time in the production segment, we have adopted an ingenious solution that combines a high-revving V8 twin-turbo engine with three axial flux motors, a result that will amaze Lamborghini fans around the world. This adrenaline-pumping solution has led the Temerario to become the new epitome of supercars," explains Rouven Mohr. Previously only naturally aspirated engines could maintain linearity and progression at high revs. Now, thanks to the application of turbochargers, the engine can also achieve high torque at high speeds.
The all-new engine, internally codenamed L411, is one of the most powerful engines available in its segment. The V8 twin-turbocharged engine delivers a maximum of 800 horsepower at 9,000 to 9,750 rpm and 730 Nm of torque at 4,000 to 7,000 rpm. The motor in the P1 position (between the V8 engine and the gearbox) ensures an immediate response when the engine is running at low speeds and maintains output during gear shifts, acting as a "torque compensator" to enhance transient response and still give the driver linear and infinite acceleration at speeds up to 10,000 rpm. Thanks to the application of two large turbochargers, the efficiency and performance of the engine at high speeds are improved. The two turbochargers are packed into the engine’s V-shaped structure, forming an "internal thermal V8" layout that optimizes the overall layout and thermal management. The V8 twin-turbocharged engine can rotate up to 10,000 rpm, and its turbocharger has a maximum boost pressure of 2.5 bar (absolute pressure). The turbo is equipped with an electric exhaust gas bypass valve and a wheel speed sensor for precise control. The Lamborghini-designed air cleaner features a tubular housing and is extremely compact, which not only saves space but also increases efficiency.
The adoption of a planar crankshaft is a central feature in the crankcase, with an angle of 180 degrees between adjacent cranks. Typically used in racing engines, this crankshaft ensures an even ignition sequence compared to the cross crankshaft, thus optimising hydrodynamic performance and producing a uniquely captivating sound wave. The titanium alloy connecting rods employed enable reduced rotational mass and have excellent strength and lightweight material properties, resulting in reduced engine weight. The engine block casting material is made of A357 + Cu alloy, the same material used in racing engines.
The valve rocker arm is coated with DLC (diamond-like carbon) and is very strong and stable, capable of withstanding up to 11,000 rpm, a performance previously only seen in racing engines. It was from racing that the engineering team drew inspiration to design this engine layout concept. Following the common layout of racing engines, most of the auxiliary devices are located on one side, including dual water pumps for intercooler and engine cooling, and electronically controlled bucket valves for fine-tuning temperatures.
The oil and water pumps are connected in series on the right side of the engine and operate at a specific ratio when the pump speed reaches 7,800 rpm. The engineers integrated the fuel tank on one side of the engine, following the dry sump principle, working in tandem with the five-stage gear return pump. This design makes the overall powertrain flatter and can be installed in a lower position in the Temerario, further lowering the vehicle’s center of gravity and improving its handling performance. The newly designed water cooling system ensures a balanced temperature of the engine. The internal cooling system of the cylinder head uses 3D printing technology to make the ultimate improvement to its casting core, resulting in uniform cooling of the combustion chamber and high explosion resistance. The gasoline direct injection system atomizes fuel extremely finely into eight combustion chambers at pressures up to 350 bar, ensuring fast and clean combustion.
The smooth rev characteristics of the naturally aspirated engine combined with the power output and electric drive of the turbocharged engine are unique in terms of operation and sound waves. Based on this, Lamborghini has successfully developed a new V8 twin-turbo engine that combines the remarkable linear rev characteristics of Lamborghini’s previous V10 naturally aspirated engine with the powerful power and torque of the current turbocharged engine. With three motors, the output is as high as 920 horsepower/676 kW.
Engine sound
Lamborghini has invested a great deal of technical energy to ensure that the new Temerario drive system brings a unique and highly recognizable sound wave, providing drivers with a passionate and unique Lamborghini sensory experience.
"As the engine rpm increases, the amplitude and frequency of the sound waves of the V8 twin-turbo engine also increase, and the design of the planar crankshaft allows subtle vibrations to change with the engine rpm, highlighting the powerful power of the engine. For the driver of the Temerario, this will be an extraordinary experience that touches all the senses. The driver will be inspired by the powerful sound waves of the Lamborghini and feel this very recognizable characteristic with all his heart," Rouven Mohr said. The technical complexity of this particular soundscape is extremely high. To ensure that the crescendo sound at rpm up to 10,000 rpm can bring passionate and dynamic effects, Lamborghini has integrated a variety of technologies and added high-frequency modulation effects to enrich the sound effect.
The special connection between the engine groups enhances the sound effect of the power unit at different engine speeds. Depending on the driving mode, the silencer and exhaust valve of the V8 twin-turbo engine work in the low-speed range to improve the acoustic comfort during driving. At the same time, with the help of acoustic modulation technology, the vehicle can clearly present different sound effects in different driving modes. The exhaust system from the manifold to the tail pipe is also acoustically designed to highlight the combustion process of the engine. Lamborghini uses a smooth pipe layout to ensure clear and clean exhaust sound. The height and position of the exhaust tail pipe along the transverse axis further concentrate the high-frequency component of the engine, thus highlighting its strong power. In addition, Lamborghini’s design of the engine mount and body allows the driver to feel the planar crankshaft characteristics when the engine is running at high speed and fully loaded. This is due to the design of the planar crankshaft, where the crankshaft pins of the planar crankshaft are at a 180-degree angle, providing a subtle vibration effect for the V8 twin-turbo engine.
Lamborghini has enhanced the vibration frequency of the engine at high speeds, thus deepening the driver’s intuitive experience of speed and power at high revolutions. Sound engineers have also succeeded in introducing pleasing sporty sound waves into the car, and with the help of lightweight body parts and panels to highlight the desired frequency. In addition to the exciting sound effects, the slight vibrations transmitted to the body also provide the driver with a full sensory experience. As engine revolutions increase, seat vibrations become more intense, especially at revolutions up to 10,000 rpm – a speed range previously found only in racing cars. In addition, the addition of a sound wave enhancer emits sound waves into the car in different driving modes, creating an immersive listening experience for the driver.
Lamborghini has also designed distinctive sound waves for different driving modes – Città (City), Strada (Road), Sport (Sport) and Corsa (Track). In Città (City) mode, Lamborghini’s unique sound effects through the electric drive unit bring extreme comfort to the driver. This sound design creates a smooth and pleasant listening experience in an urban driving environment. In Città (City) mode, the Temerario provides a quiet driving experience with zero emissions.
In Strada mode for country roads and motorways, passengers can enjoy a comfortable and balanced sound wave of the V8 twin-turbo engine, with an even frequency distribution and no sharp and harsh noise, providing the driver with dynamic driving pleasure. In Sport and Corsa modes, Lamborghini amplifies the second and fourth-order overtones and intake resonance of the V8 four-stroke engine to create an exhilarating and powerful auditory experience. At up to 10,000 rpm, the engine not only bursts with an amazing power of up to 920 horsepower, but also is accompanied by an unparalleled shock wave unique to the new generation of Lamborghini models.
Three motors provide support
The new drivetrain integrates three motors, each with a power of 110 kW, which are an indispensable part of the powertrain. With a combined peak output of 220 kW and a torque of up to 2,150 Nm (60 kW continuous output), the two oil-cooled axial flux motors can drive the front axle on demand for all-wheel drive. The electric front axle weighs only 73 kg and each motor is even lighter to 15.5 kg.
A major challenge was to design a powertrain that was as compact as possible. To this end, the team of engineers integrated the motor directly into the casing of the V8 twin-turbo engine, without the need for an intermediate clutch. This allowed for improved turbo hysteresis, no matter how tiny or at any speed, and produced 300 Nm of torque. The entire electric drive unit was placed compsively between the internal combustion engine and the dual-clutch transmission. The motor also doubles as a starter and a three-phase generator. Two motors on the front axle also improve the power output, allowing the all-new Temerario to be transformed into an all-electric supercar. Compared to the Huracán, the all-new Temerario can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 50%.
Battery pack
The Lamborghini Temerario is equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack with a specific power of up to 4,500 W/kg in the central channel, maintaining an extremely low center of gravity of the body and guaranteeing optimal weight distribution. Protected by the bottom structural guard, the lithium battery is connected to the front and rear motors and an integrated charging element. The lithium battery measures 1,550 mm in length, 301 mm in height and 240 mm in width. It contains soft pack cells with a total capacity of 3.8 kW · h. When the power is zero, it can be charged by household AC and charging piles. The power can reach 7 kW. It can be charged in only 30 minutes. It can also be charged by recovering braking energy from the front wheels or directly from the V8 engine.
Thanks to the electric drive axle, Temerario introduces the Lamborghini LDV (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo) Vehicle Dynamic Control System 2.0. The electric drive torque vectoring distribution system optimally distributes torque to each wheel, thus enhancing the vehicle’s flexibility when driving in tight corners, as well as its stability when cornering at high speeds. In addition, unlike traditional systems, the new torque vectoring system intervenes with the brakes only when necessary, maximizing efficiency and ensuring a more natural driving style as well as a higher level of performance. When braking, the electric drive axle and rear motor help the vehicle decelerate to reduce the pressure applied to the brakes and recharge the battery by recovering braking energy.
Dual Clutch Transmission
The second supercar in the Lamborghini HPEV high-performance hybrid, the Temerario’s gears are controlled by an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) mounted transversely to the rear of the V8 engine. This newly designed compact transmission meets all the requirements of a powerful drive unit.
In order to save installation space and reduce weight, the design does not follow the standard dual-clutch transmission (DCT) layout. It introduces an additional hollow shaft, which allows different gear torque paths to share the same set of synchronizers. Since no electrical components are included, the new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission is lighter and faster to shift gears than the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission found in the Huracán series. This new dual-clutch transmission features an extremely compact design: 560mm long, 750mm wide and 580mm high.
The new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox is placed behind the V8 twin-turbo engine to leave plenty of room in the central aisle for the lithium-ion batteries powering the motor. In addition, this technology layout optimizes the Temerario’s weight distribution, helping to maintain a tight vehicle wheelbase for optimal driving dynamics and balanced handling.
The Temerario is equipped with a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, allowing the driver to experience fast and smooth gear changes during sporty driving or daily driving. Continuous downshifts are particularly easy: simply press and hold the left paddle shifter to achieve step-by-step downshifts during braking, allowing the driver to truly feel and hear the shift process. The long gear ratio of 8 gears reduces the engine speed, which helps to optimize fuel consumption and driving performance during cruising. In addition, the Temerario transmission is equipped with a mechanical reverse gear system.

appearance
At first glance, the Temerario highlights the Lamborghini brand’s DNA with its classic body silhouette: the body lines are clear and simple, the front and rear overhangs are short and compact, and the aerodynamic design is combined with a bold shark nose shape.
Lamborghini’s design language continues to evolve, creating new hexagonal daylights that are highly recognizable and instantly recognizable from a distance. The hexagon is a central design theme throughout the vehicle, from the main body to the side air intakes, to the taillights and the unique hexagonal exhaust. "This signature hexagonal light design not only reinforces the Lamborghini identity, but is also clearly recognizable from a distance," Mitja Borkert emphasizes. "The geometric hexagon has been one of Lamborghini’s most striking symbols since the 1960s."
The hexagonal daytime running lights integrate aerodynamic channels, reflecting the design concept of incorporating the lights into the aerodynamic concept. In addition, the air channel located below the headlight cluster optimizes aerodynamic performance and provides better cooling for the high-performance front braking system, further enhancing efficiency.
Combining aeronautical elements with muscular lines that start at the front of the car, Temerario’s designers highlight the fluid and dynamic profile and the cockpit shape that gradually narrows towards the hexagonal tailpipe. The strong and striking shark nose shape of the front hatch symbolizes bravery and speed. Sharp and elegant headlights are slightly embedded in the hood, and the design is inspired by sports motorcycles. The wind guide plate connects the low front spoiler to the hood, while the fins on both sides guide the flow of air along the sides of the body. The sharp side skirt enhances the aerodynamic performance while also effectively increasing the downforce of the vehicle.
The Temerario’s extreme sporty feel is accentuated by the broad shoulder on the side of the body and long, powerful muscular lines that extend from the front of the car to above the doors. Powerful and efficient air intakes behind the side doors provide ample airflow to the V8 twin-turbo engine, while visually enhancing the downforce of the chassis. A fixed rear spoiler highlights the rear width of the vehicle. The compact and tech-filled rear incorporates racing elements, such as a wide diffuser that extends to the bottom of the car and an integrated tailpipe. The taillights feature a new hexagonal design, while promoting air circulation to optimize engine cooling.
The roof design also takes into account aerodynamics, with a slightly reclining profile directing air fluidly directly to the integrated rear wing. Above the passenger compartment, the designer cleverly hides the air inlet behind the sculptural shoulder almost without a trace, which effectively ensures a sufficient air supply to the engine, radiator and turbocharger.
The heart of the Temerario lies in the new 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine and integrated axial flux motors. To realize this new powertrain concept, a team of designers and engineers worked together to create a new chassis and body: the Lamborghini Centro Stile Design Center has the greatest freedom in the process, presenting the drive system in visual art, enhancing the pure mid-engine effect. The construction of the Lamborghini V8 twin-turbo engine is as clear as the motorcycle engine under the transparent hatch.
"The Temerario’s sleek yet exhilarating styling gives a new form to Lamborghini’s core iconic design language, taking us a big step into the future," says Mitja Borkert. "Temerario combines style and performance in a way that unites design, engineering and the driving experience like never before."
Interior: "Pilot Experience"
"The Temerario captures Lamborghini’s Pilot Experience concept in a new way, immersing the driver in Lamborghini’s signature driving pleasure through a low seat position, a slim and lightweight dashboard, and the perfect tilt of the steering wheel. The combination of digital screens and mechanical and physical buttons, such as the classic start button and racing-style steering wheel, creates a unique Pilot Experience," explains Mitja Borkert. "The new electrically adjustable comfortable sports seat comes as standard, or an optional carbon fibre double-hulled sports seat, which is like a perfectly fitted glove that wraps the occupants in the cockpit and is ergonomically surrounded by the center console." The seats are available in a variety of colors and 4 different stitching styles. The newly developed comfort seat of the Temerario offers the widest selection of all Lamborghini models: this 18-way adjustable comfort seat offers both heating and ventilation.
The interior echoes the extraordinary exterior design, achieving a balance between digital and physical experience. Lamborghini uses premium materials such as carbon fiber, leather and Corsatex made of Dinamica suede in the interior and combines them cleverly to create a high-quality interior experience with a unique touch. Many interior elements are also available in optional carbon fiber materials, including components for the center console, air-conditioning trends, door panels, instrument panel components, steering wheel and steering column. In addition to the elegant lightweight materials mentioned above, the interior also features classic Lamborghini elements such as the aviation-inspired start-stop button, electronic shift lever and red "line-up" indicator light on the steering wheel, highlighting the ultimate sporty performance of the Temerario.
The interior design follows the Lamborghini "Pilot Experience" philosophy, and thanks to the new generation of dashboards, drivers and passengers can quickly integrate into the vehicle. With clear and intuitive operation, the driver can easily reach all controls from the perfect driving position. The iconic hexagonal air-conditioning trend blends elegantly with the cockpit, while the center console reserves space for smartphones and wallets.
The newly developed steering wheel is available with an optional carbon fiber element, inspired by racing cars, allowing the driver to control the main driving functions. There is a red top cover knob on the left side of the steering wheel for selecting the driving mode. Below the knob is the chassis lift function button and the "track start" button to raise the height of the vehicle, as well as the turn signal switch located in between. The driver only needs to touch the button to activate the ejection start function for the most convenient control.
"Pilot" interaction
The interior of the Temerario follows a novel, modern icon display. Lamborghini’s signature elements are found throughout the interior, including the central passageway, touchscreen borders, and around vents and seams. "The hexagonal pattern, choice of materials, and novel digital imagery make the interior of the Temerario both sophisticated and passionate," says Mitja Borkert. For the first time, the passenger position is equipped with a slim and content-rich display that can be used to capture driving information and vehicle functions. The driver can follow important driving data through the analog display, and can operate the entertainment system and navigation functions through the touch screen on the center console. This "pilot interaction" concept further enhances the interaction between the driver and the Temerario, giving him perfect control of the vehicle during the drive.
The new human-machine interaction interface (HMI) "Pilot Interaction" is the information hub of Temerario. Lamborghini has developed new images and designs specifically for Temerario, further evolving the new image design DNA enabled by Revuelto. The center console is equipped with a new 8.4-inch display, which can be operated by the user with a swipe and can set personalized themes. Drivers and passengers can swipe applications and screen display information from the center control screen to the left or right on the screen in front of them, just like operating a smartphone. Drivers receive information through the 12.3-inch digital dashboard, while passengers can also view data through the 9.1-inch screen in front of them. If the driver changes the driving mode, the image on the display will also change accordingly to match the current driving mode.
More spacious space for daily use
Compared to the Huracán, the Temerario’s interior features a new design and extends the design language first applied to the Revuelto. Thanks to the new body structure, the interior space of the Temerario is significantly better than that of the previous generation. The lower and ergonomic seating position not only allows the driver and passengers to integrate perfectly with the vehicle, but also provides the excellent comfort that Lamborghini’s "pilot experience" philosophy seeks.
Thanks to the all-new body structure chassis concept, the Temerario has 34mm more head space, 46mm more leg room and a 4.8 ° wider field of view. It is even capable of accommodating passengers up to 2m after wearing a helmet, meaning that even tall motorists can finish the race comfortably on the track wearing a helmet. In addition, the luggage compartment under the front hatch provides 112 litres of storage space for two suitcases for items such as sports gear, while the space behind the seats can store other everyday items.
"Providing our customers with the best possible comfort is one of the top goals we have set," says Paolo Racchetti, Temerario Product Line Director. "Our supercars are suitable for driving in cities as well as long distances – improving the comfort of the ride while keeping the body size and proportions as compact as possible was an important challenge we faced during the development process. The Temerario is a supercar with absolute versatility, capable of both going all out on the track and being the perfect significant other for weekend getaways and trips."

Temerario has launched two new exclusive colours – Blu Marinus (blue) and Verde Mercurius (green). The Lamborghini Ad Personam couture program offers over 400 body colours and special paint options, offering customers a near-infinite range of customisation possibilities. New wheels – 20 inches in front and 21 inches in rear, available in three different designs and materials – cast wheels (three colours), forged wheels (four colours) and carbon fibre wheels. At the same time, a rich selection of carbon fiber elements for the exterior and interior are available – front lip, mirror covers, side upper vents, rear diffusers; central access, instrument panel, air-conditioning out trend, door handle bezels, carbon fiber steering wheel, steering column cover and shift lever.
For the first time, Lamborghini is launching the more track-driven Alleggerita (lightweight) package alongside the new model. The lightweight package can reduce the weight of the body by 12.65 kilograms through body components alone; with lightweight interior, carbon fiber wheels and titanium mufflers, the body weight can be reduced by more than 25 kilograms, improving aerodynamic efficiency (67% increase in aerodynamic load).
The lightweight package includes a front lip with carbon fiber reinforced composite (CFRP) (0.19 kg weight reduction) and a bottom panel with recycled carbon fiber (0.55 kg weight reduction), further demonstrating Lamborghini’s commitment to sustainability. The new side skirt with carbon fiber reinforced composite (CFRP) further reduces the weight by 0.6 kg, the rear hatch by 9.2 kg, and the panel with integrated spoiler for lifting aerodynamic loads by 1.6 kg.
In the interior, the lightweight package features carbon-fibre door panels and passenger pedals, giving the driver a racing-inspired experience. The windows have also been reduced in weight – 0.85kg of lightweight glass in the rear and 0.45kg of fixed side windows in polycarbonate.
In addition, carbon fiber kits are also available, including rear diffusers, mirror covers, and side air intake protective covers, further reducing weight by 1.82 kilograms.
Aerodynamics
By achieving three main design goals – high-speed stability, improved cooling performance, and optimal braking efficiency – the Lamborghini Temerario reaches the pinnacle of aerodynamic efficiency.
When developing the body and bottom of the Temerario, Lamborghini’s team of designers and engineers took into account the new hybrid powertrain and increased aerodynamic load, particularly in the rear of the vehicle, which offers a 103% increase in rear downforce compared to the Huracán EVO, while the version with the lightweight kit offers a 158% increase.
Each component is designed to enhance aerodynamic performance. Starting from the front, the daytime running lights become aerodynamic components. The hexagonal headlights equipped with dedicated air inlet guides are responsible for directing the airflow from the front to the upper part of the side radiator, where two fins are installed. An upper fin with an airfoil profile directs the airflow down, and another horizontally mounted fin in turn directs the airflow vertically to the radiator, thus achieving optimum cooling efficiency. In addition, the grille on the wheel arch consists of fins that direct the airflow to the outside of the wheel, away from the side radiator and minimizing the airflow, thus achieving the dual effect of reducing aerodynamic drag and directing downforce to the rear of the vehicle. The side mirrors work in tandem with the front of the vehicle to not only reduce drag, but also direct air to the side radiators, thus enhancing the cooling capacity of the mechanical components.
The design of the roof central passageway allows air guidance to be integrated into the rear spoiler of the body, thus improving aerodynamic efficiency and increasing downforce. The curved side of the hood also contributes to this effect, increasing the amount of air flowing through the side of the spoiler. The optional lightweight kit is equipped with a high-load lightweight rear spoiler, achieving the effect by increasing the trailing edge height and consequent increased curvature.
The underside of the vehicle also plays a structural role in terms of aerodynamic efficiency. The underside of the vehicle is equipped with a vortex generator: three pairs of fins arranged like branches increase the aerodynamic load at the rear and assist the diffuser in its role. Compared to the Huracán EVO, the diffuser has a 70% increase in surface area and a 4 ° increase in angle, thus maximizing the extraction of airflow from the bottom vertically. The new turbocharged hybrid system places higher demands on cooling performance, so the new radiator layout developed increases cooling performance by 30%.
In addition, in order to maximize the excellent performance of the Temerario, the new car is equipped with a new brake cooling concept in order to optimize braking performance. A baffle fixed to the lower suspension arm is adopted at the front, which uses the air flow dispersed by the front diffuser and directs it to the front brake caliper to assist in brake cooling. There are also two other dedicated air intakes on the front enclosure, which direct the high air flow generated by the front enclosure itself to the ventilation channels of the brake discs; then, a Y-shaped duct with double inlet, single outlet draws air at high pressure, which helps to improve the cooling effect of the brake system. Overall, the cooling performance of the brake discs is improved by 20% compared to the Huracán EVO, and the cooling performance of the brake calipers is improved by 50%.
The rear uses a solution that Revuelto has successfully tested. The ventilation ducts of the rear brake discs direct air flow through NACA ducts located at the front of the rear wheel cover, which collect high-energy air flow from the underbody and direct it to brake cooling ducts.
Body structure
The body structure of the Temerario features a new body-in-white, multi-technology aluminum body structure that can withstand the increased pressure generated by the new hybrid unit, ensuring excellent mechanical performance and significant weight reduction.
The Temerario features an all-aluminium body and, for the first time, a new high-strength alloy for high-pressure castings. The process of high-strength hydraulic forming, as well as a further increase in the number of hollow castings with thin walls, reflects a strong core. The application of these technologies minimizes the complexity of the body structure, the body weight is optimized, and at the same time, the components used in the new hybrid system are reduced by more than 50% compared to the Huracán’s like-for-like index parameters. In addition, the Temerario significantly reduces the number of hot welds, resulting in a reduction of more than 80% in the total weld length compared to the Huracán.
Compared to the previous generation body structure, the new structural prototype has increased torsional stiffness by more than 20% and provides the best vehicle weight limit, ensuring maximum driver and occupant safety and significantly enhancing the vehicle’s outstanding driving dynamics.
Driving experience
The Temerario offers 13 driving experiences, making this supercar both versatile and exciting to drive on a daily and track-driven basis. Driving modes can be selected via knobs on the steering wheel: the red top knob at the top left allows the driver to switch freely between Città (City), Strada (Road), Sport (Sport), Corsa (Track) and Corsa Plus (Track +: ESC electronic stability system off) modes; in addition, press and hold the "checkered flag" button for two seconds to activate the ejection start function to reach its maximum potential when the vehicle is still starting.
"The Temerario creates an innovative and exciting driving experience. The electric four-wheel drive system and the torque vectoring distribution system are a perfect combination," says Rouven Mohr. "On the one hand, the Temerario shows unparalleled precision and efficiency on the track; on the other hand, the model has more typical rear-wheel drive characteristics, giving the driver the best immersive experience."
The hybrid system is accompanied by three new exclusive driving modes: Recharge, Hybrid and Performance, all of which can be selected via a knob at the top right of the steering wheel. The selected driving mode will be displayed on the driver’s 12.3-inch digital dashboard, visualized in an animated image-synchronized analog knob rotation.
The Città (City) mode is designed for city driving and can be used in Hybrid (up to 140 kW, or 190 hp, on pure electric drive) and Recharge (Charge) modes to quickly charge the battery via the V8 engine when necessary. The Strada (Road) mode is suitable for rural routes and long-distance high-speed driving, and the four-wheel drive system moves on demand, providing an efficient and sporty driving experience. In Hybrid mode, the V8 engine always supports the motor, and the powertrain can output a maximum of 800 hp; in Recharge (Charge) mode, the maximum output is 725 hp. The electrically driven front axle supports torque vectoring and active aerodynamics, ensuring optimum body stability at high speeds, such as on highways.
The Sport mode gives the Temerario a distinct personality, delivering a passionate, fun and responsive driving experience in three combined modes with Recharge, Hybrid and Performance. With the assistance of the hybrid system, the internal combustion engine works in all three modes, delivering a maximum of 920 horsepower, and the sound wave of the V8 engine is also clearer. The gearbox responds the most quickly, and the suspension and aerodynamic design further enhance the body flexibility and driving pleasure when cornering.
The Corsa mode is designed to enhance the driving dynamics of the Temerario on the track, with maximum efficiency and power output, as well as optimum performance and engine sound. Combined with the Performance mode, the powertrain unleashes its full potential, delivering a maximum of 920 horsepower; the controls of the hybrid are tuned to maximize the role of the electric drive axle in torque vectoring and four-wheel drive, for an extremely sporty and easy-to-handle driving experience. In addition, the sound wave performance in Performance mode has reached the peak of passion, providing the driver with an engaging and exhilarating auditory experience.
In addition, for the first time, Temerario has introduced the Drift mode, which allows the driver to oversteer in a controlled manner to maximize driving pleasure. The Drift mode is controlled by a knob located below the right of the steering wheel and can be adjusted according to three different levels: from the first level, which assists in oversteer while maintaining a limited yaw angle; up to the third level, which is designed for experienced drivers to achieve greater yaw angles.
Human-machine interaction interface (HMI), infotainment system and vehicle-machine interconnection system
The new Temerario is the most advanced model in Lamborghini’s history with multimedia capabilities. Compared to the Huracán, its car-machine connectivity system has been significantly optimized to provide users with not only services and functions related to daily driving, but also other functions designed for road or track driving pleasure.
Users can enjoy the navigation system’s map update service remotely, and get real-time traffic information and information of interest. The connected suite integrates entertainment content, including webcasts, voice assistants, and supports wireless connection to smartphones through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The human-machine interaction interface on the Temerario integrates a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, an 8.4-inch central control screen, and a 9.1-inch passenger screen. It uses an image interface, including 3D images, widgets, and a new style designed specifically for the car. In addition, the three screens are controlled by an "electronic brain", ensuring a high degree of uniformity in interface design, interaction experience, and ease of use.
In addition to the new graphic design, the dashboard also offers new customization functions, providing users with three view options: the "Dynamic View" displays vehicle dynamic information; the "Navigation View" provides a full-screen map; and the "Core View" presents the core information required for driving. The Lamborghini infotainment system adds new features, providing a wealth of personalization options to create an immersive experience for drivers and passengers. Among them, the swipe function makes the transfer of information content as easy and fast as the operation of a smartphone, and you can swipe your fingertips to drag content between the central control screen, the driver or the passenger display.
One of the personalisation options on the central control screen is the ability to create a page capable of managing up to three apps simultaneously, giving drivers easy access to their "favourite" features such as temperature control, navigation, radio and more, minimising the risk of distraction while driving. In addition, the system also supports the creation of shortcuts for individual apps such as temperature control, phone contacts, radio and navigation destinations.
Temerario also introduced the Lamborghini Vision Unit (LAVU) system for the first time, enabling three new in-vehicle services through three cameras and a dedicated Control Unit: Lamborghini Telemetry 2.0, Memory Recorder and Tachograph. Users can easily access these applications through the infotainment system and steering wheel controls, as well as through the Lamborghini Unica app.
The Lamborghini Vision Unit (LAVU) system uses telemetry to record performance on the track, helping to improve vehicle performance and a true "pilot experience". At the same time, it can also save the best driving moments with the help of memory recorders, and use tachographs to enhance driving safety.
Three high definition cameras are used to capture the cockpit and road: a front-facing camera on the roof lining, which records the road or track; an "emotion capture" camera, also on the roof lining, which captures the emotional state of the driver in the cockpit; and a rear wall camera mounted on the fire shield behind the seat, which captures the steering wheel, dashboard and windshield.
The "Driving Experience" area allows users to relive all driving experiences through the Lamborghini Vision Unit (LAVU) system, while the "Remote Stroke Statistics" service collects data on distance traveled and hybrid system usage after each trip.
The Lamborghini Unica app continues to provide service when the Temerario’s engine is turned off. Users can use their smartphone or Apple Watch to continuously monitor the vehicle, checking information such as fuel level, battery level, range and the exact location where the vehicle is parked. In addition, through the app, users can also perform a series of remote controls, such as door locking and unlocking.
Lamborghini Vehicle Tracking System (LCVTS) is one of the safety and protection features of Temerario, which actively monitors the unauthorized use of the car and notifies the owner through the application and the Safety Operations Center, so that the necessary response procedures can be initiated in a timely manner. Lamborghini guarantees the privacy and security of the user’s personal data from the design stage of the vehicle, adhering to the principle of "incorporating privacy and security into the design" to ensure that the product always follows the highest standards throughout its life cycle.
Audio
Temerario’s sound system is crafted by Sonus faber of Vicenza, Italy. This high-end sound system creates an immersive sound environment and presents the "natural sound" that the brand is famous for. Each component has been carefully designed and carefully tuned to ensure that the listening experience reflects the virtuosity and precision that Italian craftsmanship represents. The Temerario’s spacious cabin and powerful engine complement the STEBA sound system for a passionate luxury experience.
Lamborghini Telemetry 2.0
Lamborghini Telemetry 2.0 is an on-board application designed specifically for the track, designed to enhance driver confidence and performance and help drivers realize the full potential of the Temerario. The fully upgraded image interface and user experience in the car make operation more intuitive and faster, and the steering wheel controls are integrated, making the Temerario an excellent choice for track driving.
During the course, the driver can view the track map, lap times, and information for each stage through the dashboard display. At the same time, you can also select the reference time for instant performance reports.
Lamborghini Telemetry 2.0 contains data from more than 150 of the world’s top circuits, including various lane-changing combinations, and is more informative than the version on the Huracán STO. In addition, the system also provides more information such as tire pressure and when and where the electronic intervention is activated.
Users can also record their own driving experience through the camera integrated with the Lamborghini Vision Unit (LAVU) system: after driving, you can view telemetry data and videos directly on the dashboard display, or share them through the Unica app for more in-depth analysis, and even take advantage of the integration of Apple Watch to combine car data with your own heart rate data.
The Lamborghini Unica app also enables a more convenient user experience through collaboration with drivers in the sports division of the Lamborghini Squadra Corse. The modular roadmap displays recorded video and driving data, making performance analysis more intuitive and easy to understand. The app’s built-in video editor gives users the freedom to choose between different frames, templates and new overlay widgets to create personalized videos and share images and data.
Memory recorder
The fun continues beyond the track, with the Temerario memory recorder capable of recording every driving moment. This feature allows the driver to record up to two minutes of driving video using the Lamborghini Vision Unit (LAVU) system camera and share it through the Unica app. In addition, the ease of use and personalization of the memory recorder are further enhanced, and the driver can freely choose the camera screen, image interface display information and video format.
Driving recorder
The Lamborghini Vision Unit (LAVU) system also integrates the application of the dashcam to enhance driving safety. The three-camera design constitutes an efficient continuous monitoring system that automatically records one-minute video in the event of an accident or emergency operation. In addition, users can view images from the 40 seconds before the collision or operation, which can be viewed either through the infotainment system or through the Unica app.
