The objective examination of the 2021 National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination started today, and was conducted in two batches on October 16th and 17th. There were 298 examination areas and 541 test sites in 29 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, as well as Hong Kong and Macao. There were more than 359,000 candidates in the first batch of exams, and more than 321,000 candidates in the second batch of exams. Due to the epidemic situation, the exams in the Ili test areas of Heilongjiang Province, Fujian Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were postponed.
In recent years, the number of applicants for the national unified legal professional qualification examination has increased year by year, and the scale of the examination has been expanding. In 2021, the total number of applicants for the objective examination of the national unified legal professional qualification examination was 718,900, an increase of about 10,000 compared with the number of applicants last year (708,900) and a record high. Most provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China have increased to varying degrees. The largest number of applicants is Guangdong Province (59,295), and there are 5 provinces with more than 40,000 applicants. According to the number of applicants, the order is: Guangdong Province, Shandong Province, Beijing, Henan Province and Jiangsu Province.
The examination questions are mainly case questions, focusing on the examinee’s ability to practice the rule of law and analyze and solve problems. At the same time, the examinee is equipped with a compilation of laws and regulations in the subjective examination.
