The report pointed out that China has continuously built a modern agricultural management system, promoted the transformation of agriculture from traditional labor-intensive industries to modern agriculture with various forms of moderate scale operation, and also spawned a number of new agricultural industries and new formats, and continuously released development potential.
In 2004, the circulation area of rural contracted land in China was only 58 million mu. By 2022, 1,474 counties (cities, districts) and about 22,000 towns and villages have established circulation service centers, and the circulation area of land management rights of household contracted farmland in China has exceeded 532 million mu.
In recent years, China’s new agricultural management entities have continued to grow and develop. More than 1.07 million organizations across the country provide socialized agricultural services, covering an area of over 1.97 billion mu and serving more than 91 million small farmers, effectively promoting the organic connection between small farmers and modern agriculture.
With the continuous improvement of agricultural modernization, the scale of facility agriculture in China has expanded year after year, and the products are increasingly rich. In 2022, China’s facility planting area reached 42.7 million mu, accounting for more than 80% of the total area of facility agriculture in the world, and it has become the largest country in facility agriculture.
In recent years, China has actively cultivated and expanded new agricultural formats and continuously released the development potential of modern agriculture. China has cultivated more than 90,000 leading agricultural industrialization enterprises at or above the county level, over 350 strong towns with an output value of over 1 billion yuan in the whole industrial chain, and 4,068 specialized villages and towns with rural characteristics, with a total output value of over 900 billion yuan.
